Herbert C. Champagne, 92, a native of Boutte and resident of Luling, passed away on Feb. 23.
Champagne is survived by his wife, Eula Foret Champagne; son, Craig A. Champagne (Junie); grandchildren, Carrie Folse (Heath), Casey Kramer (Mark) Steven Champagne, Marylane Miletello, (Matt); great grandchildren, Mia, Daniel, Gemma, Isla, Greyson, Llsa; brother, Edward Champagne and sisters, Earline Champagne and Doris Bolden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elphege and Valerie Richard Champagne; brothers, Willie, Louis, Oscar, Andrew Champagne, and sisters Lucille Gaubert and Marie Gaubert.
Herbert was a World War II Army Veteran where he was a prisoner of war. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 131 and VFW Post 3750. He was a watchmaker in St. Charles Parish for 56 years.
He loved growing a garden and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation was held Feb. 27 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Luling. A Mass of Christian followed with burial in St. Charles Cemetery, Luling.
