Jane L. Bruer

Jane L. Bruer passed away on March 19, 2009. Preceded in death by parents Wilbur T. and Carolyn D. Loke, as well as her husband Alfred E. Bruer and grandson Lawrence Deroche Jr.

Leaves to remember her as a loving mother, sister and grandmother – daughters Sandra Harris of Luling, Madeline (Libby) Deroche of Jayess, Miss., son Gary A. Bruer of Waveland, Miss., and sisters Anne, Carol and Connie. Survived, as well, by grandchildren Jean Guzzardi, Bradley Madere, Darrell Madere, Michael Deroche, Brian Deroche (Penny), special great-grandson Seth Madere and her beloved pets.

Ms. Bruer was grandmother to 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Ms. Bruer was born in Springfield, Mass. and has resided in many communities across the country, due to her husband’s work in the aero space field, finally making Luling her home in the 1990s.

She was involved in a career of journalism, at one time owning and publishing a weekly newspaper. She was a volunteer at St. Charles Parish Hospital for many years and an active member of the Council on Aging until her health declined.

In keeping with her spirit of volunteerism. Ms. Bruer has donated her body to the LSU School of Medicine. No services will be held.
