Heloise Hymel Becnel, 96, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 25 in Metairie.
She was a native of Killona and a resident of Luling. She is survived by her sons; Roland A. Becnel Jr. and wife Joan, Lewis B. Becnel, Sidney G. Becnel and wife Margaret, Robert J. Becnel and wife Patricia, Gerard J. Becnel and wife Rita, Earl F. Becnel and wife Rebecca; daughters, Carolyn Zeringue and husband Paul Sr., Juanita B. Haydel and husband David Sr., Cynthia B. Murray of Victoria, Texas, Miriam C. Becnel; brother, Ray Becnel; sisters, Myrtle H. Kinler, Maisie H. Chartier and Emily H. Lavelle. Also survived by 25 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland A. Becnel Sr.; parents, Sidney Hymel Sr. and Louise Hymel; brothers, Sidney Hymel Jr. and Robert Hymel; sisters, Virginia “Virgie” Becnel, Dorothy Clouatre and one grandchild.
Visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. until 9:p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29 and from 8 a.m. until funeral time Friday, Aug.30 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Luling. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony Catholic Church with burial to follow in St. Charles Cemetery.
