Barbara Zeringue Gaubert passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on Sunday, June 11, 2023. She was 90, a native and lifelong resident of Luling, La.
Barbara is survived by her children: Duenna Poche’ (Keith), Lowell “Bubby” (Angie), Theron “Hoss” (Cynthia), Guinn “Black” (Susan), Denise Boyd (Jay), Leila Bourgeois, Jaida Bergeron (Ritney Sr.), Roth (Julie); sister: Earline Hava; sister-in-law: Linda Zeringue, and 19 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Barbara was born on November 28, 1932. She graduated from Hahnville High School in 1951, and spent many years as a dedicated homemaker. She is proceeded in death by her husband, Denis Vincent “Gunu” Gaubert; brother, David Zeringue; sister, Irma Johnson, brother-in-law Joseph Johnson; parents, Noah J. Zeringue and Beulah L. Zeringue.
Barbara was affectionately known as “Maw Bobbie” to many. She was compassionate and tender to everyone she met. She loved life, was happiest when her family was gathered and took great pride in being a beacon of strength for her family and friends. She was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and was a faithful servant to the Lord. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to have known her.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, June 23, 2023, beginning at 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 1 Rectory Lane in Hahnville. Funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. followed by interment at St. Charles Cemetery.
Barbara was very devoted to her Catholic faith and faithful in giving to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her memory to St. Jude or a mass Intention in her name at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
