Roberta “Bobbie” Antrim, a lifelong resident of Oklahoma City, passed away Dec. 30 at the age of 89.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Amanda L. Babin and caring son-in-law, Charles R. Babin of Luling. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Rachel Babin Hebert (Todd) of Houma, Dean J.N. Babin of Wisconsin, and Janice Babin Logsdon (Travis) of Santa Rosa, Calif. Bobbie was “Granny Bobbie” to five great grandchildren; the late Gabrielle R. Hebert, Madeline M. Hebert, Chanel I. Babin, Sadye M. Auren, Steele R. Logsdon. She is also survived by her nephew, Joe Scheppman.
Bobbie is preceded in death by her parents Olive and Joe Joseph of Oklahoma City, Sister Jacqueline Joseph Scheppman and brother-in-law Ted Scheppman.
She worked as an administrative assistant and retired from OU Medical Center Dept. of Medicine in 1998 after 35 years of service. She graduated from Classen high school in Oklahoma City in 1941, earned a BA degree in Professional Education at Oklahoma College for Women at Chickasha, a Masters in Human Relations from OU, a Masters in Public Health from the Health Sciences Center Campus in Oklahoma City, and holds an Associate Degree in Law Enforcement from St. Gregory University. Bobbie was a founding member of the first Oklahoma chapter of the American Association of Medical Assistants.
She was named volunteer counselor of the year by the Oklahoma City Municipal Court Probation Services in 1987 and was awarded Woman of Achievement in 2002 by the Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women participating in numerous Catholic women’s activities at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Bobbie was passionate about her grandchildren, dancing, and her beloved pets; Gus, Cassey and Romeo.
The family wishes to thank all the people who befriended Bobbie while residing in Louisiana and all family and sitters who provided care and companionship. Visitation and Mass was held Monday, Jan. 5, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Luling. Burial will take place at a later date at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Oklahoma City with a memorial service to take place in Oklahoma City.
