Angela Mayeux Durapau

Angela Mayeux Durapau died unexpectedly at Ochsner Medical Center on September 1st in Kenner, LA at the age of 54. Angie is survived by her mother, Carol LaBorde Mayeux of Roxie, MS; husband, Martin Durapau; children, Chelsey Durapau Montet and husband Ross, Devin Durapau, Heather Durapau Bouza and husband Joseph, Hannah Durapau Rodriguez and husband Eric, Rachael Durapau; grandchildren, Rhett Montet, Raelynn Bouza, Lorenzo Rodriguez and Everleigh Bouza; siblings, Lonny Mayeux of Paradis and wife Denise Melancon; Troy Mayeux of St. Amant; Holly Mayeux of Jefferson. She is preceded in death by her father, Al Mayeux of Roxie, MS and sister-in-law Leslie Meneley Mayeux of St. Amant.

Angela was born on July 6, 1966 in Marrero, Louisiana to Al Mayeux and Carol LaBorde Mayeux. She graduated from Hahnville High School in 1984. She married Martin J. Durapau, her high school sweetheart in 1986. The couple welcomed 5 daughters into their home and set about teaching them how to love deeply and instilled the value of a greater faith in Jesus. Her children remember her as a devoted mother and nanna who encouraged them to pursue their goals. Angie was a thoughtful, compassionate, caring person who loved unconditionally.

She unselfishly gave her time, talents and wisdom to anyone in need. She has touched the lives of many across the world. She was a hard worker that never stopped. She was such an amazing giver of advice and like no one in this world – truly unique – one of a kind. She supported her girls in every major event and was there to cheer them on. She knew their potential and pushed them to do their very best in all that they did.

A funeral is scheduled for 10:00am at Life Fellowship Community Church, 2671 Hwy 306, Des Allemands, LA 70039. Private Family Visitation from 8-8:30am. Open Visitation 8:30-10am.
