Alvin J. Meyer, Sr., 95, a native and resident of Des Allemands, LA, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Falgout Funeral Home, Raceland, LA. Religious services will be at 11:00 am with burial to follow in Des Allemands Mennonite Church.
He is survived by his sons, Alvin Meyer, Jr. (Christine) and Terry Meyer (Margaret); daughter, Susan Hobby (Rob); 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Levia Dufrene Meyer; parents, Fredrick J. Meyer and Solange Bourgeois Meyer; sister, Pauline Comardelle and brothers, Alfred Meyer, Sr. and Carl Meyer, Sr.
Alvin was a World War II Navy veteran.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
