Woman made up story about boyfriend holding her at gunpoint, police say

A 19-year-old New Sarpy woman was so angry at her boyfriend that she made up a story that he had held her at gunpoint throughout the night, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Brianna Johnson, of 181 Clement St. in New Sarpy, told police that she got into a fight with her boyfriend, Alonzo Wilkens, at their home at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday night. Johnson told police that when she tried to leave, Wilkens pulled out a gun and forced her to stay during the night. Wilkens then left the home with a friend on Sunday, Johnson said.

Later on Sunday, Johnson filed an official report with these allegations and a warrant was issued for Wilkens for false imprisonment, simple battery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. On Wednesday, Johnson recanted her story and told police she made up the allegations because she was angry at Wilkens, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Although the warrant was issued for Wilkens, he was never arrested.  On Wednesday, the warrant for Wilkens was recalled and he is no longer wanted in connection with the case.

Johnson was booked with criminal mischief – false report.
