Wal-Mart Supercenter holds health fair for women this weekend
BOUTTE – Wal-Mart Supercenter in Boutte will be hosting it’s Fourth Annual Women’s Health Fair Saturday, June 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Some of the services offered by the various sponsors will include vision screening, blood and glucose screening, mammography information, healthy cooking demonstration, self defense instructions, cardiopulmonary resuscitation information, early child care information, mental health information, power walk and fitness workout demonstrations, fire safety demonstrations, with various other health related activities.

Vacation bible school starts now in Luling

ENCORE! Historical play on stage – again
DESTREHAN – The River Road Historical Society announces an encore performance of The Voices of Louisiana play and dinner at the Destrehan Plantation Mule Barn on Saturday, July 28 with a Cajun-style buffet dinner at 6 p.m. with the performance at 7 p.m.

Sheriff’s camp taking applications
HAHNVILLE – The St. Charles Sheriff’s Office is now accepting applications from boys between the ages 12 to 16 who are willing to attend its ninth annual “Operation First Class Sheriff’s Camp” from July 22 to 27 and is free of charge.
The sheriff’s camp chooses 50 boys per year and the event is an outdoor experience at the Salmen Boy Scout Reservation located near Kiln, Mississippi.
