United Way’s new board members bring experience

LULING- The United Way of St. Charles has added three new members to its board of directors in 2009. The new members are Loyd Bourgeois, Jr., Federico Martinez, Jr. and Timothy Marcel.

Loyd Bourgeois, Jr. practices law at Didricksen Law Firm in New Orleans.  He has a bachelor’s degree from Louisiana State University in environmental engineering and a minor in business administration.  After graduating from LSU in 2002, Bourgeois attended Tulane School of Law where he received his J.D., cum laude, with a certificate in environmental law in 2005.  Bourgeois is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association.  He and his family are also members of Holy Family Catholic Church.  Bourgeois resides in Luling with his wife and two young children.

Federico Martinez, Jr. is the chief executive officer of St. Charles Parish Hospital in Luling.  He completed his under-graduate studies at Our Lady of Holy Cross College in New Orleans.  Martinez received his Masters in Business Administration from Tulane University in 1984.  He has been the CEO of St. Charles Parish Hospital since March 1986.

Timothy Marcel has been an attorney in St. Charles Parish since 1997.  Since 1999, he has operated the Law Offices of Timothy Marcel. Marcel is a graduate of Nicholls State University and LSU Law School and is a member of the Louisiana Bar Association.  He is also the current treasurer and past president of the St. Charles Parish Bar Association.  Marcel has served on the boards of directors of the Madere Children’s Advocacy Center, St. Charles Council on Aging, Center for Family and Youth Services and 29th Judicial District Indigent Defender’s Board.  He and his wife, Sarah, are the parents of six-year-old twins attending New Sarpy Elementary School.
