Two suspects arrested after gunshots fired in Luling

Two suspects have been arrested after gunshots were fired resulting in damage to a pair of Luling residences in the early hours of this morning (Sept. 18).

The suspects were apprehended after their vehicle crashed during police pursuit.

According to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded after a complaint of gunshots in the 100 block of Bocage Drive in Luling. During the response, a deputy observed a vehicle traveling west bound on Highway 90 with no headlights on.

After attempting a traffic stop, the other vehicle fled, resulting in a chase that ended when that vehicle crashed in Kenner near I-10 and Williams Boulevard.

The two occupants in the vehicle were detained and later arrested when an investigation determined they were involved in the alleged shooting, said St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Cpl. James Grimaldi.

Both residences that sustained damage were located in the immediate vicinity of the original complaint. No injuries have been reported to the Sheriff’s Office, Grimaldi said.

The names of the suspects have not been released.

The incident is believed to be isolated and is still under investigation. The Sheriff’s Office asks anyone with information about the incident to contact Detective Jennifer James at (985) 783-1135 or (985) 783-6807.
