Third arrest made in business burglaries

4 businesses targeted, including Hartman’s, McGuire’s Pub

Another arrest has been made in the burglaries of four St. Charles Parish businesses in January and February.

Danny C. Hebert, 30, of 1068 Hebert Lane in St. Martinville, was arrested on May 18 and charged with four counts of simple burglary.

The burglaries included Hartman’s True Value, McGuire’s Pub, Advance America and Portside Restaurant.

Capt. Pat Yoes, public information officer for the Sheriff’s Office, said that Hebert was caught through statements and information obtained during the investigation. Hebert’s bond has been set at $200,000 by Judge Robert Chaisson.

Also arrested in the case were Jarrod W. Frosch Jr., 22, of 2723 Village Court in Marrero, and Brittany Allen, 20, of 1032 Gaudet Drive in Marrero. Frosch was arrested on April 5 and charged with four counts of simple burglary, and Allen was arrested on April 14 and charged with simple burglary and principle to simple burglary.

Property stolen and damaged during the burglaries was in the thousands of dollars.

Sheriff’s Office investigators said that they believed from the beginning that the burglaries were the work of professionals who were most likely not from the parish.

“They obviously knew what they were doing,” Yoes said.
At Hartman’s, the authorities said that security equipment was completely disabled. The store was also vandalized with its own products.
