Two teens will not spend any additional time in jail after admitting they lured a Metairie drug dealer to a Norco park and robbed him of synthetic marijuana in January.
Keithton Mouton, 18, of 1056 Old Henderson Road in Breaux Bridge, was sentenced to five years in jail after pleading guilty to simple robbery. However, his sentence was suspended and he was placed on probation for five years.
Ashton C. Jacob, of 573 Oak St. in Norco, was sentenced to five years in jail after pleading guilty to principal to simple robbery, but his sentence was also suspended. He was instead placed on probation for three years.
The incident began when the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office received a call from the suspected drug dealer, 17-year-old Joshua Kearney. Kearney told police that he was sitting in a car with a girl when he was attacked by three men.
He said that he was able to flee, but only after being punched and pulled out of his vehicle.
When police tracked down the juvenile girl that Kearney was with, she admitted that she had helped set Kearney up.
She said that Kearney texted her that he had synthetic marijuana that he wanted to sell. She told him to meet her in Norco and brought three friends along, including Mouton and Jacob. The third person was not named since he is a juvenile.
When Kearney arrived, she got into his car. Shortly after, Mouton, Jacob and a third person approached, according to court documents.
The girl told authorities that Mouton punched Kearney through the open window and then drug him out of his truck. Kearney was hit several more times until he threw two grams of synthetic marijuana, she said.
Kearney then fled in his vehicle.
Kearney was charged with attempted distribution of drugs but his case has not been resolved.
