A St. Rose man has pled guilty to theft of government funds after defrauding the Louisiana Road Home Program, according to U.S. Attorney Jim Letten.
Ryant Price, 47, has a primary residence on River Road in St. Rose, but in 2006, he applied for funds from the Road Home Program for a second home he owned in New Orleans. Rice claimed that the second home was his primary residence, and received $105,000 in funds as a result.
Price will be sentenced on May 12. He faces a maximum of 10 years in jail, a fine of $250,000 and three years of supervised release following any term of imprisonment. The case was investigated by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Office of the Inspector General, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U. S. Attorney Spiro G. Latsis.
