St. Rose man booked in convenience store shooting

An 18-year-old St. Rose man wanted for attempted second degree murder because of a shooting that occurred at the Kwik-N-Fast convenience store, turned himself in to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Bobby Terrell, of 502 E. Club Drive, was booked with shooting Kerry Armstrong several times in the chest after the two got into a fight inside the store.

Ha Bui, an employee of Kwik-N-Fast, told officers that seven black males were inside the store when Terrell entered the premises. When Armstrong, who was near the counter, saw Terrell, he immediately ran towards him and the two began to fight.

During the altercation, the other men gathered around to watch the fight, but when Terrell and Armstrong fell to the floor and shots were fired, all of the men fled the scene.
Armstrong was later located at Oschner Kenner Regional Hospital where he had gone to receive medical treatment.

While examining the scene, officers found numerous shell casings and four bullet holes in the ceiling. A beige Toyota outside of the store also appeared to have blood on the hood and a blood trail heading toward Preston Hollow.

Terrell turned himself in the next day and Armstrong was later released from the hospital. Terrell was being held on $500,000 bond at the Nelson Coleman Correctional Center.
This shooting follows closely on the heels of another incident in which an argument led to another attempted murder charge.

St. Charles Parish sheriff’s investigators say Christopher Johnson, 21, of 401 Oak St., St. Rose, shot James Bunch in the neck after the duo argued in Bunch’s driveway on St. Rose Avenue.

Bunch told investigators that he had just taken out his garbage when he was accosted by Johnson, who demanded $10. Bunch was shot once with a small handgun after he said he had no money.

Johnson fled after the shooting, and Bunch called the Sheriff’s Office.
