St. Charles Sheriff’s Office seeking suspect in attempted arson

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking for help locating Jerrian James Brown in connection with an active warrant for attempted aggravated arson.

On March 14, the Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the owner of an apartment complex at 180 Elm St., Hahnville, reporting a strong gasoline odor near the exterior wall of the complex.

The owner reviewed video surveillance footage and observed Jerrian Brown pouring the contents of a gasoline can along the wall of the duplex, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

It was further learned that Brown had recently resided at the complex, but had been evicted.

Brown, 27, is a black male, approximately 6-foot-11-inches tall and 220 pounds. His last known address is 253 Trailsway Drive in Hahnville.

Anyone with information in relation to the incident, or know his whereabouts is urged to contact Detective Jody Weems at (985) 783-1135 or contact (985) 783-6807.

Citizens can also contact Crime Stoppers at 1-877-903-STOP. Citizens do not have to give their names nor testify and could receive up to $2,500.
