Special holiday offerings available Saturday at the German Coast Farmers’ Market

Live music and appearances by Santa and the Grinch are in store for revelers of the German Coast Farmers’ Market this Saturday.

Musician Kyle Labat will perform and Chef Richard Kiral of Ormond Plantation will be on site serving up a festive holiday dishes at the market, which opens at 8 a.m. and closes at noon.

All special appearance and activities will take place from 9 – 11 a.m.

The weekend market has moved permanently from the Ormond Plantation parking lot to the St. Charles Parish East Regional Library, located at 160 W. Campus Drive in Destrehan.

The market has been growing and now includes more than 30 vendors, and market organizers said the spacious parking lot at the library allows for additional vendors as well as future growth.

Organizers said pop up markets on Wednesdays from 1 -5 p.m. will ensue at the Destrehan library until the Westbank Bridge lot is once again available.
