$90 to kill a kid he didn’t like

A 14-year-old Destrehan boy has been booked with solicitation for murder and illegal possession of a handgun after St. Charles Parish authorities said he offered a 15-year-old Destrehan boy $90 to kill another boy.

Police reports state that the youth wanted his girlfriend’s 17-year-old ex-boyfriend killed and gave a 15-year-old New Sarpy boy his father’s .38-caliber handgun. The 14-year-old turned himself in to detectives after learning that a warrant had been issued for his arrest, Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Patrick Yoes said.

The15-year-old New Sarpy boy, was arrested and booked with illegal possession of a firearm by a juvenile. He was released to his parents.

It is reported that the 14-year-old, who at press time was being held in the St. James Parish Juvenile Detention Facility, had allegedly given him the gun to hold for him until he could complete the arrangements with the 15-year-old Destrehan boy he had attempted to hire for the killing.

Authorities would not release details about the investigation, including how the alleged plot was discovered, but said juvenile detectives heard rumors and began to investigate them.

Arrests

•Anthony S. Wallenbery, 41, of 577 Dantin St. in Raceland was arrested on Oct. 26 at the intersection of LA 632 and LA 631 in Des Allemands and charged with possession of Hydrocodone, no turn signal, no license plate, no driver’s license and with a St. Charles Sheriff’s Office attachment.

•Dana D. Hills, 31, of 317 South Kinler St. in Boutte on Sept. 15 and charged with forcible rape. Hills was arrested on a warrant that was issued on Oct. 20. It is reported that, since May 2005, Hills allegedly forced a 15-year-old juvenile to have sex with him numerous times.

•Kim P. Smith Jr., 17, of 25225 Stepp Rd. in Robert and a 15-year-old juvenile from Destrehan was arrested on Oct. 23 and charged with eight counts of simple burglary. Both subjects were arrested after detectives learned that they were involved in several burglaries which took place in the Oaklawn Ridge Subdivision in St. Rose. During these burglaries, the two stole hunting supplies, guns, beer, a compact disc player and four-wheelers. Some of the stolen items have been recovered.

DWI

•Baltazar Deleon, 36, of 800 Industrial Place in LaRose was arrested on Oct. 20 on I-10 west bound and charged with DWI, careless operation and no driver’s license.

•Lionel F. Campbell, 58, of 452 Killona Dr. in Killona was arrested on Oct. 22 at the intersection of Adams Street and Railroad Avenue in Killona and charged with DWI, failure to stop at a stop sign, improper lane use, reckless operation and open container.

•Jerome Sanders, 22, 2818 Layette St. in Kenner was arrested on Oct. 29 on I-310 North and charged with DWI, careless operation and no driver’s license.

•John Wallace Jr., 29, of 1722 Creole St. in LaPlace was arrested on Oct. 28 on Apple Street in Norco and charged with DWI, possession of narcotics and no tail lights.

Thefts

•A compact disc player, valued at $100, was stolen from 131 Oakland Ridge Lane in St. Rose on Oct. 23.

•A pressure washer, valued at $455, was stolen from 324 Ormond Oaks Dr. in Destrehan on Oct. 28.

•A Nintendo, a PlayStation and assorted games were stolen from 12807 Hwy 90 in Luling.

Obscenity

•A 58-year-old woman was walking down Barreca St. in Norco at 6:30 a.m. when she observed a male subject walking to the side of a residence. The subject, who was naked from the waist down, stared at her while masturbating. The victim jogged away and notified the sheriff’s office at 8:45 a.m. when she arrived to work.
