A 34-year-old St. Rose man is in jail after police say he allegedly hit another man in the back of the head with a brick, beat the man in the face and then fled the scene with the victim’s money and keys.
Glenn Brooks, 34, of 236 Mockingbird Lane, was arrested last week and charged with armed robbery, simple battery and simple criminal damage under $500.
A 54-year-old man told police that he was walking to his home at 1:45 a.m. when he saw Brooks riding a bike behind him, according to Capt. Pat Yoes, Sheriff’s Office spokesman. The victim said that Brooks hit him in the back of the head with a brick and began to punch him repeatedly in the face.
While the victim was lying on the ground, Brooks took his money and keys, according to Yoes.
