Police seek help identifying shooter of Destrehan teen

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office said that a group of individuals were loitering outside a residence in the 200 block of Meadows Drive when a maroon or burgundy colored Taurus drove by traveling southbound on Meadows Drive Aug. 5 at around 11:45 p.m.

Witnesses advised police that as the vehicle passed, an unknown black male seated in a rear passenger seat pointed a handgun out of the window and fired shots in their direction.

Seventeen year-old Rashaud Capers of Meadows Drive was struck in the head by a bullet, causing serious injuries.

Detectives were able to develop persons of interest. Detectives continue to investigate this incident and are asking anyone with information about the incident to call CrimeStoppers at 1-877-903-STOP. Those providing information that leads to the identity of those responsible are eligible for a cash reward.
