Police search for fifth suspect in connection with murder

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office has issued an arrest warrant for Jonah Wetwiski who is facing charges of principal to first-degree murder. Wetwiski, of 4630 Gallatin St. in New Orleans, is wanted for his connection to the shooting death of 21-year-old Richard Bailey on Monday morning.

Bailey, a New Orleans resident, was shot to death on Kennedy Street in St. Rose in what St. Charles Parish Sheriff Greg Champagne called a drug deal gone bad.

The Sheriff’s Office has already arrested four people in connection with Bailey’s murder and is still searching for a sixth man thought to be responsible for the shooting.

The incident is under investigation and anyone with information on the murder is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at (985) 783-6807.

Anyone who has any information on the whereabouts of Wetwiski is asked to contact the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office at (985) 783-6807 or Crime Stoppers at (877) 903-STOP.  Citizens do not have to give their name nor testify and could receive up to $2500.
