Police: Man stabbed during tax discussion

A man was stabbed in the face twice after getting into an argument with his ex-girlfriend over taxes, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Monique Y. Stallworth, 33, of 2233 North Village Green Drive in Harvey, was arrested last week and booked with attempted second-degree murder. She remains in jail with bond set at $50,000.

According to Sgt. Dwayne LaGrange, Stallworth and her ex-boyfriend met on Dufresne Loop in Luling to discuss tax paperwork. Stallworth was in the driver’s seat and began arguing with the victim, who was in the passenger seat.

The man told police that he bent down to pick something up off the floor of the car and was stabbed in the face with an unknown object. He was able to escape and call the Sheriff’s Office, LaGrange said.

The man was transported to St. Charles Parish Hospital where he was treated and released.
