Police: Luling man took voyeuristic photos of children

A 33-year-old Luling man has been arrested after authorities say he took photos of children while zooming in on parts of their body.

Daniel Kinder, of 313 Maryland Drive, was charged with video voyeurism after police executed a search warrant at his home and found several such images on his computer, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Video voyeurism is the use of a camera or other recording device for the purpose of observing, viewing, photographing, filming or videotaping a person without their knowledge for a lewd or lascivious purpose.

“He was taking pictures of children at various places across the area then zooming in on parts of their body. He would then load the images on his computer,” Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Pat Yoes said. “We received an anonymous tip and when we searched his computer we found a number of images.”

Kinder was arrested on May 2 and was booked into the Nelson Coleman Correctional Center. His bond was set at $200,000 by Judge Emile St. Pierre.
