Ormond residents warned that auto burglaries could continue

Five automobiles were broken into this past Saturday morning, July 7, before daylight in the Ormond area, says the sheriff’s office. The vehicles all had a broken side window as the point of entry.

Three of the vehicles were on Villere Pl and the other two were located on Houmas Pl.

Past experience has shown that the perpetrators of these auto burglaries will more than likely strike again in the same or nearby area.

The sheriff is asking anyone with any information concerning suspicious activity this past Friday night-Saturday morning to please call 911 or 985-783-6807.

Ormond residents should be vigilant in the coming days for anyone suspicious during the early morning hours lurking around on the street.

Sheriff Champagne warns all residents to continue to lock their vehicles before retiring for the night as well as taking any valuables from cars.

“We will certainly intensify our patrol and unmarked vehicle presence in the area for the near future,” said Champagne in an email alert he sent out to parish residents.
