Norco man pleads guilty to raping 14-year-old

Will serve 12 years without possibility of parole or probation

A Norco man has pleaded guilty to raping a 14-year-old girl in 2014 and will serve 12 years in prison.

Matthew Dixon, 33, of 143 Goodhope St. in Norco, pleaded guilty to one count each of simple rape and oral sexual battery in a plea bargain. Dixon received a 12-year sentence for simple rape and 10 years for oral sexual battery, with the two sentences served concurrently.

Each sentence will be served without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence. Dixon receives credit for time served since his arrest.

St. Charles Sheriff’s Office detectives determined Dixon supplied alcohol to the girl before having sex with her in January of 2014. Police said the girl was an acquaintance of Dixon.

After the incident was reported to the victim’s parents, a warrant was issued for Dixon’s arrest.

He was arrested and booked into Hunt Correctional Center in St. Gabriel before being transferred to St. Charles Parish’s Nelson Coleman Correctional Facility, where he is serving his sentence.

As part of his sentencing, Judge Emile St. Pierre’s court specifically recommended Dixon undergo substance abuse treatment through the state Department of Corrections’ Blue Walter program.
