A man accused of serving alcohol to and then raping a 14-year-old minor was booked into prison in St. Charles Parish last week.
Matthew Dixon, 32, of 143 Goodhope St. in Norco, was booked June 13 and charged with simple rape and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.
According to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, detectives determined Dixon supplied alcohol to a 14-year old juvenile then had sexual intercourse with the victim thereafter. The girl was an acquaintance of Dixon.
After the alleged crime was reported to police by the victim’s parents, a warrant was issued for Dixon’s arrest.
According to St. Charles Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Pat Yoes, Dixon was arrested and being held in Hunt Correctional Center in St. Gabriel and was transported to St. Charles Parish to face those charges.
Dixon was being held at Nelson Coleman Correctional Facility on a bond of $100,000 as of Tuesday evening.
