Marty A. Muller, 38, a lifelong resident of St. Charles Parish will run for the District 1 councilman position currently held by Desmond Hilaire, in the October 20 race.
Muller plans to establish a new era of harmony, cooperation and teamwork between parish government and parish residents.
“I will strive to rekindle the “Spirit of St. Charles Parish,” and improve the quality of life for all residents,” Muller said.
“I will provide a new voice and offer actual solutions,” he continued.
Muller’s motto is ‘do right, do it right and do it right now,’ and plans to make changes in the areas of employment, clean environment, recreation and equality.
“My number one goal will be to create, with the involvement and the support of the parish council, parish administration and local businesses, an environment that stimulates real economic growth through employment creation,” Muller said.
“I plan to implement a “Street Cleaning Program,” to remove debris from parish streets and to ensure a healthy and safe environment for all of our residents.” he said.
“I will create recreational opportunities and provide more organized constructive activities for the parish’s youth to participate in which will build their self confidence.”
Muller said our streets, ditches and parks should look the same throughout the parish, and he will work hard to ensure that all department directors are spending the budget monies equitably throughout the parish.
“All of our communities should look the same, you shouldn’t be able to tell one from the other in terms of the upkeep,” he continued.
Muller graduated from Hahnville High School in 1987 and studied architecture and civil engineering at Louisiana Tech University.
