A Montz man was arrested on child pornography charges and is in St. Charles Parish jail, according to Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry.
James Vincent Kelly, 33, was charged with one count of pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13 (distribution), 20 counts of pornography involving juveniles under the age of 13 (possession) and one count of Schedule II CDS-Methamphetamine less than 28 grams.
The arrest came as result of a joint investigation with the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Homeland Security Investigations and the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office. Kelly was booked into Nelson Coleman Correctional Center following his arrest with a bond of $245,000 on the 21 sex offense counts and $5,000 on the drug possession charge.
“The possession, distribution, and production of sexual abuse images and videos of children are despicable crimes that impact victims forever,” said Landry. “Every time one of these images or videos is viewed, the children are re-victimized.”
