Man killed in Hwy. 90 wreck

A 73-year-old Metairie man was killed after his vehicle crossed the median on Highway 90 in Mozella and ran into a tractor trailer, according to the Louisiana State Police.

The wreck forced authorities to close Highway 90 east at the spot of the crash for four hours.

Onex Stevenson was traveling west on Highway 90 when his 2006 Mercedes ML350 crossed the median for unknown reasons. A 2008 Peterbilt tractor trailer was in the right lane on Highway 90 east, and the driver was unable to avoid the collision, authorities said.

Stevenson was pronounced dead at the scene. Speed and alcohol are not suspected to have been factors in the crash.
