An Edgard man accused of making threatening comments to police officers through social media was arrested this week.
Victor Pablo, of 253 Amp Circle, was arrested and charged with terrorizing and threatening a public official. The arrest was made by the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office.
On Monday, St. Charles Parish police began investigating a post on social media that allegedly stated, “In uh lil while cops in St. Charles are goin to be next. I hope they kill every last 1 of them dirty bitchez.” In light of the recent events in Dallas and Baton Rouge this threat was considered to be serious and dangerous, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
A search warrant was also executed at Pablo’s residence where multiple weapons were recovered.
“The Right to Free speech comes with certain responsibilities. Making threats in this volatile environment incites danger for law enforcement and the public,” said Sheriff Greg Champagne.
Pablo was booked at the St. John Sheriff’s Office Correctional Center as a fugitive and later transported to the St. Charles Parish Nelson Coleman Correctional Center, where he is being held on $25,000 bond.
