BOUTTE – Crawfish lovers on the West Bank of St. Charles Parish have news to get excited about as Majoria’s Supermarket announced that they would now be offering boiled crawfish from the popular New Sarpy eatery the Seafood Pot.
For now the crawfish, portioned in 5 pound bags for $3.99 a pound, will be available only on Fridays.
“It was a no brainer for us and for them,” Barry Majoria says of selling the crawfish, adding that as demand grows for the product that the supermarket would be willing to offer the crawfish on more days. “It’s a fit with where we’re located and the traffic here, plus they have a great product.”
Eric Donnaud of The Seafood Pot agrees.
“Everybody is going crawfish crazy, so hopefully it will take off,” Donnaud said.
Majoria’s Supermarket is located at 13413 Highway 90 in Boutte.
