As we roll into and through the year’s final quarter, it is gift-giving season — and for some of the most personalized gifts around, the place to find them is Maison Décor.
While known widely for its vast selection of fountains displayed in the store’s courtyard, Maison Décor’s interior has long stood out to those who have experienced the shop firsthand. Perhaps one would like to purchase a book written by the favorite local author of a friend or family member. The store’s books are among Maison Décor’s hottest sellers each year at this time.
Others might have a wall plaque or plate in mind that represents something near and dear to the soon-to-be-recipient, be it an artist’s rendering of Destrehan or Hahnville High School, for example, or several St. Charles Parish landmarks. And the shop also features the largest selection of garden flags in the area, for those who want to personalize the outside of their homes for visitors to see.

“We’re getting into the holiday season and we’ve got your gift, for you and for every occasion,” said Maison Décor owner Shane Matherne, who opened the Boutte business nearly 20 years ago. “We have so many very personalized gifts to choose from.”
A notable arrival at the store is the new fall clothing fashions by Simply Noelle, as well as the store’s usual array of fall decorations and home décor items. And for those looking to shop last minute for Halloween items, there are ample options to choose from. Maison Décor is the largest authorized Yankee Candle dealer in the area, those items representing a large portion of the shop’s vast selection of candles and home fragrances.
Of course, with the holiday season comes the cold, which might direct customers to Maison Décor’s cast-iron fire pits or chimineas (or clay outdoor fireplaces).
The fountains are still there as well, of course: there are more than 700 of them within the store’s total selection and they come in a selection of 30 different colors. A wide selection of statues, patio furniture and other popular items are available for those looking to add a little flavor to their residence. The store offers delivery and installation services.
