Luling woman killed in 3 vehicle crash on I-10 east

A three vehicle crash over the Thanksgiving holiday claimed the life of Luling resident Meghan Stabile, who was ejected from the passenger side seat of a Toyota Celica on Nov. 26.

The Toyota Stabile was riding in was traveling eastbound on I-10 near mile post 219 at a high rate of speed. The driver of the vehicle, Michael Rigamer, lost control of his vehicle and traveled off of the left side of the roadway, striking the cement guardrail. The Toyota then made its way into the middle of I-10 east, where it was disabled with no lights.
Shortly after becoming disabled in the middle of the roadway, the Toyota was struck by both a Chevrolet Cavalier and a Chevrolet Suburban.

Because of the wreck, I-10 eastbound was completely shut down from 12:01 a.m. until 3:24 a.m.

Speed and driver impairment are suspected on the part of Rigamer, and charges are pending toxicology results. All three drivers were transported to Kenner Regional Hospital with minor to moderate injuries.
