Luling man shot in leg during armed robbery

Two Luling teens are accused of robbing three men at gunpoint and shooting one of the victims in the leg when he tried to grab their weapon.

Keith Robinson, 18, of 1336 Paul Fredrick St., and Nikolas Marshall, 17, of 722 LA 52 Hwy., ambushed the three men on Paul Fredrick Street on Sunday night, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Robinson and Marshall demanded money from the victims and struck one of them in the head with the butt of a gun to get them to comply, Capt. Pat Yoes, Sheriff’s Office spokesman, said. One of the victims tried to fight back by grabbing the gun, but was instead shot in the leg, the arrest report said.

The two victims were taken to St. Charles Parish Hospital for treatment, which led to a report being filed with the Sheriff’s Office.

The victims later identified Robinson and Marshall through a photographic lineup, Yoes said.

Both men are charged with three counts of armed robbery and  one count of aggravated battery. They are incarcerated at the Nelson Coleman Correctional Center under $250,000 bonds.
