A Luling man has been arrested and charged with one count of principal to second-degree murder and one count of principal to attempted homicide in connection with the June 23 double shooting in St. Rose.
Diavonte Griffin, 23, of at 519 Paul Frederick St., was arrested with the shooting that resulted in the death of Tyree Sherman, said St. Charles Parish spokesman Cpl. James Grimaldi. A second victim was also taken to the hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The two victims were walking across a parking lot in the 200 block of East Club Drive when Griffin allegedly summoned them to him, according to detectives.
“As the victims approached, an unknown black male subject emerged from behind an apartment building and fired several shots from a handgun, striking the two victims,” Grimaldi said.
The investigation is ongoing.
