Luling man accused of molesting 2 children

A Luling man was arrested and charged with allegedly initiating sexual acts with two minors.

Jeffrey Thomas, 22, of 340 Evelyn Drive in Luling, was arrested Feb. 11 and charged with two counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile. Thomas was accused of having inappropriate sexual contact with an 8-year-old and 6-year-old juvenile.

According to St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Pat Yoes, Thomas knew a member of the victims’ family.

The alleged incidents occurred at the family home of the victims in early January.

“One of the victims advised her parents of what was going on,” Yoes said. “They alerted us and we took action from there.”

Thomas was released from prison on Feb. 11 by posting $270 bond. He is currently under house arrest.

The incidents are still under investigation. Yoes said anyone who has information regarding the incidents is asked by the Sheriff’s Office to contact Det. Steven Fontenot at (985) 783-1135.
