LouisianaAnswers.com coming to Luling to assist adults, seniors

LouisianaAnswers.com, part of the Louisiana Aging and Disability Resource Center, will be in Luling on Dec. 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at United Way of St. Charles, to assist seniors and adults 21 years of age or older with onset disabilities find prescription assistance programs or enroll in Medicare Part D.

Anyone requiring prescription assistance should bring their Drivers license, Medicare card if they have one, and a current list of medicines.

Since it’s launch in April of 2005, the program has already helped more than 46,000 seniors save more than $72.5 million on more than 741,000 prescriptions. The program, originally limited to hurricane-impacted areas of the state, was expanded to all 64 parishes this fall and expanded its prescription assistance programs from helping just seniors to also helping adults over 21 with on-set disabilities.

“LouisianaAnswers.com is a one-stop shop. We’ll be in Luling to discuss prescription medicines, but we also help seniors, adults with disabilities, caregivers and health providers find the answers to questions about care, transportation, dental care, wheelchair ramps, home repair, homecare, housing, financial aid, legal aid or other issues related to quality living with one call or one click of the mouse, never having to leave their home or office,” said Leslie Ann Cioti, Program Director, Jefferson Council on Aging, which hosts the LouisianaAnswers.com program.
