Dougie V’s makes Thursdays Steak night

Dougie V’s Esperanza Plantation Restaurant, has brought back steak night by popular demand along with a change of menu in 2007. Every Saturday night, the restaurant, located in Luling on River Road near the bridge and next to the Ramada Inn, will offer ribeye and filet steak dinners for under $14.

“We also have house specialties that will melt in your mouth,” said Dougie, describing shrimp beignets with a rasberry pepper jelly, pecan-crusted catfish with meuniere sauce and parmesan-crusted redfish with lobster butter dishes recently added to both the lunch and dinner menus.

“Our menu is classic creole, with gumbo, jambalaya, crab cakes and bread pudding with rum sauce just a few of the delicacies we offer,” he adds.

Dougie V’s is owned by the Villavaso family and Executive Chef Doug Villavaso, Jr. has studied with Emeril Lagasse at Delmonico’s Restaurant.

Dougie has over 30 years in the restaurant business. He opened Dougie V’s Esperanza Plantation Restaurant and Lounge in 2004 and focused on offering “fabulous food in a friendly atmosphere”.

Besides steak night, kids eat free on Wednesday nights and Friday is seafood night.

“We have multiple rooms that can accommodate five to 500 people. We cater weddings, receptions, rehearsal dinners, office parties, seafood boils and more. Our restaurant seats 150 guests and the Chu Rouge Lounge is a great place to unwind at the end of a busy work day,” says Dougie.
