Garbage collectors charged with aggravated rape of 14-year-old girl

Two garbage-men are accused of aggravated rape of a 14-year-old Destrehan girl they met while working their route. Both could face life imprisonment without the benefit of parole if proven guilty. Frederick L. Evans, 20, and Eli M. Davis, 17, of River Road apartments at 604 East Club Dr. in St. Rose, are charged with raping a Destrehan teen two hours after completing their garbage route on July 24.

Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Pat Yoes said the men struck up a conversation with the 14-year-old at 4:00 p.m. as they emptied cans near her home and gave her a cell phone number.

She called them two hours later and they picked her up, drove around the corner, and sexually molested her. Yoes said that neither man had sexual intercourse with the girl but “any type of penetration is considered rape.”

“Her parent learned about it the next day and notified the sheriff’s office” Yoes said.

Yoes said both men were employees of Coastal Waste Services.

Judge Kirk Granier has set bond for Evans and Davis at $500,000 each.
