Former Hahnville High School teacher and athletic trainer Jeremy Eusea pleaded guilty to a charge of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile and can avoid prison time by fulfilling requirements of his two years probation.
Eusea accused in March of 2016 of inappropriate behavior with a student, got a deferred two-year prison sentence, which he can avoid by fulfilling the terms of his two-year probation.
He has been ordered to have no contact with the victims or their families, and will not be permitted to hold any position of authority over anyone under the age of 18.
Eusea, 31, was indicted by a grand jury in July of 2016. He was arrested twice in March of last year and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, indecent behavior with a juvenile and pornography with a juvenile, as well as computerized solicitation of a minor or texting messages during and after school that included inappropriate conversations and photographs, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The Paradis resident was initially arrested on accusations that he had inappropriate physical contact and sent inappropriate texts and pictures to a 17-year-old student, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Eusea made bail at the time, but after an investigation he was arrested for a second time only a day later. Further allegations emerged that he engaged in “sexting” with another student, this one 16 years of age.
The offenses with the 16-year-old allegedly occurred from Aug. 1, 2010 to March 31, 2011 in St. Charles Parish, according to court records.
Eusea’s arrests represented the fourth St. Charles Parish educator arrested on charges of inappropriate behavior with students in two years, two of those occurring within the first three months of 2016.
In January 2016, former Destrehan High School teacher Kimberly Naquin was charged with having a sexual relationship with a female student in the parish. In 2014, Destrehan High School teachers Shelley Dufresne and Rachel Respess were arrested after they were accused of having sex with a student.
Last year, the St. Charles Parish School Board revised system policies on dealing with sexual harassment of students, child abuse and neglect, and electronic communication between employees and students, as well as bullying and harassment. The revisions were up for review less than three weeks after his arrest and were officially passed in May.
A count of computer-aided solicitation of a minor was dismissed as part of a plea bargain.
