Driver of van found dead in Luling, result of apparent suicide

A man was found dead inside of a black Chrysler van by police Thursday in Luling, the result of an apparent suicide, according to St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office. 

According to the Sheriff’s Office, during the course of investigation, detectives were able to identify the subject as 23-year-old Troy Prince from Jackson, Mississippi. He suffered from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Detectives made contact with detectives with Jackson Police Department and learned that Prince was the focus of a shooting which occurred on November 3 in Jackson, Mississippi.  

At approximately 11 a.m. Thursday, arrived at the Sheriff’s Office began investigating the incident after receiving a 911 call. Deputies arrived and found the van parked on the east bound shoulder of U.S. Hwy 90, just before Pier 90, and discovered Prince’s body inside the van, which had Mississippi tags.
