Destrehan man arrested for littering: Witness thought he was planting bomb

A 54-year-old Destrehan man was arrested and charged with having a fake explosive device after he dropped a container next to a live Entergy underground transformer.

David Robin, of 130 Nottaway Drive, was seen dropping the container, which caused a witness to call the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office. Capt. Pat Yoes, spokesman for the Sheriff’s Office, said an explosive ordinance disposal team treated the object as a possible explosive device.

The disposal team eventually deemed the site safe after they discovered that the container was not an explosive.

In addition to being charged with having a fake explosive device, Robin was booked with littering and writing worthless checks between $100 to $500. He is currently being held at the Nelson Coleman Correctional Center under a $25,000 bond.
