Des Allemands man pronounced dead after two vehicle crash

Two vehicles were involved in a fatal crash on US 90 at Schmill Street in Boutte Sunday night at approximately 4:45 p.m. according to Louisiana State Police.

57 year-old Keith Hotard of Des Allemands was pronounced dead on the scene.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Hotard was driving a Ford F-250 west on US 90 near the intersection of Schmill Street.  For unknown reasons, the Ford veered off the road to the right and crossed into a private parking lot.  The Ford struck an unoccupied parked vehicle, continued through the parking lot and struck a power pole.  Hotard was unresponsive on the scene and medical aid was rendered, however Hotard was pronounced dead.

Hotard was wearing a seat belt and impairment is not suspected.  Toxicology tests will be performed during an autopsy.
