Des Allemands couple charged with burglary of gun, prescription drugs

Two Des Allemands residents have been arrested after authorities say they stole several prescription medications and a gun from a neighbor and then refused to open their door to deputies.

Members of the St. Charles Parish Special Response Team eventually had to go into the home where they say they found the stolen loot that included six different types of stolen prescription drugs.

Travis Justice, 32, and Tiffany Bagley, 29, both of 136 Dufrene Lane in Des Allemands, have each been booked with an abundance of charges including resisting an officer, simple burglary, obstruction of justice and use of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance.

According to Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Pat Yoes, a nearby home was burglarized and a weapon and prescription medication was stolen. Yoes said that the person whose home was burglarized confronted Justice and Bagley about the incident and the two eventually fled back into their home.

“We developed information during our investigation that allowed us to secure a search warrant,” Yoes said. “When officers arrived on the scene they used a PA system to ask the two to come outside their home, but a short time later officers had to go in.”

Yoes said inside officers found the stolen medication, which included Toradol, Relafen, Requip, Xanax, Fanax and Darvocet.
