Council approves Luling subdivision … 63 homes on tap in Hidden Oaks

St. Charles Parish council approved the development of a subdivision in Luling. Jay Roberts, managing partner from JJJ Development attended the March meeting and informed the council that everything was in place to begin building the houses. That means new home construction on the property can begin today.

Hidden Oaks, a 63-lot subdivision, features three bedroom two bathroom homes with 1,225 square feet of living area. The homes cost $129,000 including the lot.

According to the developer’s plans, the subdivision is an extension of Allie Lane. The developer intend to keep the cul-du-sac within the Entergy right-of-way in place.

Two cross street “stub-outs” also are indicated on the plan within the required 500 to 1,500 foot block length.

This includes the cross street adjacent to lots situated within Hackberry Drive. The other cross street aligns with Canal Street but with vacant land between the two. This ensures an additional connection to the subdivision via Paul Maillard Road.

Allie Lane continues for a two-lot distance before a dead end at the Boutte Estates Canal and directly aligns with a proposed subdivision across the canal. A cul-du-sac is not required at the dead end because one isn’t required on streets with less than three lots deep.
