Editor’s relic – direct from King Tut’s tomb

… actually it’s a 257-year-old Dutch tobacco tin that Derek Clontz’s great-great-great-great grandfather, Alexander Clontz, brought over from Germany when he sailed to Philadelphia via Rotterdam, in the Netherlands, in 1749, 27 years before the American Revolution. As old as the thing is, its appraised value is only $40. As it turns out, just about everyone heading for the colonies in the mid 18th century picked up a tobacco tin for the long, wet trip ahead.
