Sheriff’s Office awaiting DNA test to determine identity
The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office discovered a body floating in the Mississippi River on May 5 near the levee at Barton Avenue.
“At this point, we’re not sure what happened,” Sheriff’s Office spokesman Dwayne LaGrange said. “We retrieved the body and we were able to identify it at as a male.
“We’re not sure if the victim drowned from falling off a tugboat, but we are awaiting DNA results to determine identity.”
