The captain of a shipping vessel that was docked off the Bonnet Carre Spillway in Norco has been arrested and booked with inappropriate sexual contact with a crewmember, according to the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Ioannis “Johnny” Broumeriotis, 44, of Greece, captain of the Omicron Shipping Vessel, allegedly summoned the 31-year-old crewman from the Philippines to his quarters on three separate occasions earlier this month, authorities said.
Broumeriotis allegedly told the crewman that he would lose his job if he denied his sexual advances.
Broumeriotis is charged with three counts of sexual battery and one count of oral sexual battery.
He was released last week after posting bond, which was set at $6,000.
