Arson suspected in Killona bus fire

At about 2:56 a.m. today (May 19), Killona firefighters extinguished a bus fire in the area.

Killona Fire Chief Trevell Gordon said the old school bus on 309 Killona Drive was reported on fire and fully engulfed in flames upon arrival. Gordon said the vehicle, apparently privately owned, was a total loss.

Gordon said the state Fire Marshal has been requested to investigate the fire for suspected arson.

Some 15 firefighters with Killona and Hahnville fire departments responded to the scene with Luling firefighters on standby.

Gordon said no one was injured.
