All Kinds of Finds by Karen has some exciting new additions this year with three new colors, a fabric line that coordinates with the Chalk Paint colors and, of course, Karen Guillot’s love for bringing it all together in color-coordinated splendor.
How it works begins with “working with our customers to identify and incorporate their individual decorating style in their homes and workplaces through the use of color, fabric and furniture selections,” Guillot said.
This year’s new colors – Amsterdam Green, Giverny (a cool blue) and Honfleur (a rich brown) – are available at Karen and her husband, Lloyd “Boyo” Guillot’s shop in Luling.
To put them and Annie Sloan’s Chalk Paint creations to use, Guillot offers classes.
“Yes, our customers are very interested in our workshops,” she said. “I continually receive training and will share information with our customers in new workshops next year. These new workshops will be shorter in length and more in-depth and focused on one to two specific techniques. We will be taking our customers to their next level of painting.”
Guillot plans on unveiling micro-classes focused on a specific technique such as waxing or decorating styles and color mixing. While some of them will remain basic 101 classes for starters; others will be more specialized, shorter but more in-depth classes.
What’s hot is a combination of natural and painted finishes, Guillot said.
“Raw wood furniture that allows for individual’s to personalize the finish,” she said. “We are planning to bring in more natural finished furniture for our customers.”New linen fabrics also were introduced this year by Annie Sloan.
“All colors coordinate with our paint colors,” Guillot said. “We will be using many of these on pieces that we will showcase in our shop.”

“We love our returning customers and regularly get new customers,” she said.
